I've been wanting to talk about this EP for sometime already...but i kept getting distracted so here goes~
EP : 1/10
Artiste : Broccoli You Too (브로콜리 너마저)
Release Date : 2012.12.07
Genre : Indie, Rock
Tracklist: 01. 막차 02. 숨바꼭질 03. 1/10 04. 손편지
Broccoli,You Too! I think the exclamation mark already summarized my feels about this band and their songs. It'd be really hard for me to find something to hate about their songs no matter what. hurm. While some of their songs may not resonate with my taste in music...something i won't deny is that there's soul in their music, not simply melody. Even when i don't understand some lyrics...(i do go search for the meanings at least just a gist would do...cuz their lyrics have been amazing for the songs that have been translated...the depths are no joke so it'd be a waste to not understand even if some lyrics sound simple on the surface) i do wish more people who could translate Korean-English would translate their songs. The EP starts with 막차
or google-translated as 'Last Bus', a song I'd like to announce right now as my favourite in this EP. Not only the music and singing and overall feels tugged at my heartstrings, but even before knowing the lyrics, I knew it'd have a meaningful beautiful heart wrenching lyrics. I mean, what other expectations would I have with the title 'Last Bus' and coming from a band rich with layered meaningful subtly heart ripping lyrics like Broccoli,You Too? I saw a kind soul translating it on a site, not sure if it's accurate or not, but hey, it sounds good, I'll take that. Broccoli,You Too always had that songs that made me sad/depressed/choking on the inside but tears won't fall because the melodies are so calm n beautiful and instead I'd be left reflecting on my life with a sigh n regrets maybe n longing for something i don't even know of. I like this feeling a lot better than songs that scream at you "Hey i'ma sad song, hear me and wail" kinda song, which is a good majority of Kballad songs with highly emotional voices. Well, i don't mean to bash them, i know there are many who like those type of songs and call them 'real music' but different people has different taste right? Last Bus, with a song a title as poignant as this, I suggest that you watch this awesome live perf posted on their youtube for maximum impact. Ugh, how awesome would it be if they'd be performing at a bustop near my home, i think i'd faint due to starstruck even just imagining it. okay fine. Enough fangirling. lol.
숨바꼭질- or google translated as 'Hide and Seek' was earlier released as a collaboration project with vocals by actress, Han Hyojoo, but this time they released with vocals from their own main vocalist. And personally I knew I'd prefer this version even before listening to it. Well, not because the singer is a guy, lol. But because I love Deokwon's voice n his singing style. Soft, but not girly lol...if you want a description...if not, then forget what you saw. xD Maybe it's cuz he compose songs for the group, he's really spot on with the emotions that wanted to be conveyed, not saying Han Hyojoo didn't convey it. But you know, i'm talkin bout the subtlety which even i can't really explain lol. This song has a haunting melody/beats that would loom you in the gloominess. Especially if you listen to it over and over again. Well, just my opinion there.
1/10- Which is also the title of this EP, in case you forgot...lol. Hmm, since I haven't found lyrics translation of this song i can't say much about it. It sounded alright, following the melo-pattern in this EP, but didn't hook me much unlike the other two earlier tracks. But the sounds in the song gave some countryside/seaside vibes? i dunno. I might be totally wrong. but yeah, that's the impression I got.
손편지- or google translated as 'Hand Letter' wraps up this album. I think it's safe to say there are no shock or surprise in this album as all four songs carry the same vibe, just with different tunes. This song starts with just vocals accompanied by piano throughout till the end, and it's not hard to get into it, despite the lack(or none) of my understanding on what the song lyrics are about. The emotions can be easily followed by the sounds alone. If I have to choose, I prefer this song than the title song, oh...is this a curse...why is it happening with most albums? i always seem to like the title song the least compared to other songs.
Overall, if you're looking for variety, then maybe this isn't the album for 'ya. If you like albums with a firm concept without mixing everything in a bowl, then this might be for 'ya. If you love some moody, mellow calm songs, then this is definitely for you. As for me, i'm too deep sunk into the blackhole that is Broccoli,You Too's awesomeness to not love this album, despite the tone being a little too gloomy than usual for me. One of the reasons i freaking lurve Broccoli,You Too songs is cuz their songs are like...a life-reflection therapy some sort to me. Though I prefer a leeeettttttttttle more upbeat, i can still enjoy most songs in this EP because i know the songs are meaningful, i just need to find somebody who can translate Broccoli,You Too gems. Any volunteer? It saddens me to see many sites that do translation for Korean songs would translate in a heartbeat for songs from big overrated names even when their lyrics are meaningless cringeworthy thingies and even when other sites are all translating the darn same songs as well....hmm...but when there's singer with lyrics worth translating, there's nobody to translate 'em, except for some rare people. i'ma whiny brat. take it or leave it.
As for the instruments, I don't think i need to talk about their guitar/keyboard/drums cuz the ladies are just fabulous. I love how the melodies from each instruments can be heard clean n clearly without jumbling up everything until you can't distinguish the sounds of what. Uhh, yeah...that's my opinion. Like i always say, I'm no good in music at all, so the lesser i talk about it, the better. lol.
Eversince I've been restricting myself to share my opinions directly at sites where the artistes, company and fans could access easily due to having to watch my (lack of)fan-manners, I've come to appreciate my little crib here more n more, even when I want to spazz, because i'm afraid of having a tinge of negative/criticism elements mixed with truckload of praises might pollute n be an embarrassment to the artistes/company/fans for my lack of fan-manners, which...i don't have to bother here. And i'm also withdrawing from sites that only bash mindlessly as long as they're parroting Knetz comments to look cool and generalize whoever that has different opinion as delusional akp-ers(you should know which site that is by now...seriously the stupidest cringeworthy bunch of internet community i've ever seen) So...yay..a new post!
And a new segment. This segment is for covers, for now...I'm only planning to talk about covers i extremely love. But if you have any suggestion sure...why not? (although it's unlikely right? xD) Starting with this.
Ugh.
Somebody...get.me.some.air. pleeeeaseeeeee~~
This is awesome.
I mean, not in that mindblowing vocal-parade way...but in a way that really suited this type of song. Because i'd say this song/melody fits perfectly with soft romantic sound instead of vocal-power anyway.
First of all, Cherry Blossom Ending by Busker Busker, or rather....the whole of Busker Busker album released last year...is one of hugeee...phenomenon in Korea/Korean music industry. and caused huggeeeee craze. Topping charts everywhere..and this year, the song even came back to nab top spot in charts after one year passed. (which i'm amused to see, but not totally irritated to see, unless if it's song like...uhh, Gangnam Style....erhhh...)
After seeing the craze that is Busker Busker, i did try their music...
maybe it's just me, I didn't find the song(s) all that extremely mindblowing addictive compared to some other indie-acts I easily got hooked upon. In fact, i'd say Busker Busker feels like...mainstream pop-indie? lol. (i didn't try ALKL the songs in their album btw, just abt half before i decided it's enough,so my impression might be inaccurate but hey, that's MY impression)
anyway, Cherry Blossom Ending...i did like the song and downloaded it to listen to. And as I always say, when I got hooked on a song, I'd listen to it on repeat nonstop until i got tired of it..some songs took a few days to wear off, some a few hours, some even up to a few months, some i'm still not tired of, even if i stopped listening to it nonstop...which means they passed through the test of time n repetition. lol.
As for this particular song though...it lasted shorter than i thought it would...probly a few hours but it's still nice to listen to every now and then. Though i still don't get the size of phenomenon it caused. Since it wasn't the first time i encounter such a song with the beautiful 'spring' vibe n relaxing melody. it was refreshing in the midst of idol-music but it's definitely not something unheard of to be causing such a craze, methinks.
Anyway, let's talk about ZE:A FIVE version. As you know, I'm, ZE:A fan, you'd expect me saying ZE:A oppar the best cuz that's what fan(girls) do rite? Uhm, but before generalizing me like those stupid bunch of pushover peeps at the site i mentioned in first paragraph, I think you should know that ZE:A isn't free from my criticism, which goes back to the reason i spazz and rant about them in this blog instead of fan-community. Here is the only place i feel free to give fair, unbiased judgment without feeling like laser eyes digging into my flesh. lol.
So...where were we again?
Ahh, yes, ZE:A FIVE's cover of Cherry Blossom Ending.
You'd have guessed that i really really love this. And I'm happy this will redeem back ZE:A FIVE's image for the public who watch this performance. Because like i said, i hated their title song mainly cuz the blatant rehashed element to it. And frankly their title song a major waste of ZE:A FIVE vocal talents. (no need to tell me how high they charted with that song cuz i know n i don't care. i know they'd have charted higher n faster with a decent song instead of that one) And hearing this cover, isn't this what ZE:A FIVE intended to go for? Showing their harmonization n sweet vocals? I don't think I heard either of the two in The Day We Broke Up. Nope, Nuh'uh.
anyway,
I'm a little disappointed they didn't go all the way with this cover. As in, they didn't sing the high notes parts, even though ALL of ZE:A FIVE members would have no problem belting it. Yes, for those who don't know them that well, EVEN Minwoo the rapper could. (Watch ZE:A's Love Coach performances if you haven't)
However, my small disappointment was nothing compared to the happiness and satisfaction of this performance. Really.
Kevin's perfect silky smooth strong vocals.Damnit. That's Kevin for 'ya. Okay, and that's just a small portion of what he could do with his voice. If you think that is all, oh you'd be surprised. ;) I love how there's a clear distinctive difference between this and Busker Busker's original version, because ZE:A FIVE's vocals are on the smooth side...while Busker Busker more on the raw, rough-edged/powerful type which worked out well as well, obviously. But i think the reason i liked this version so much more is the smoothness of it.
Minwoo's rap portion and Hyungsik joining a bit rap-talk-like-singing before continue with the smooth singing. Although I'd prefer Minwoo to have some singing parts since I've been missing his singing so much n i feel people who are just getting to know ZE:A through ZE:A FIVE also deserved to know that Minwoo has nice singing voice n vocals, but I do like the refreshing take this rap brings to the song. Makes me want to see Hyungsik trying to dish out some rap parts...you know...like Hyesung(Shinhwa) did eventhough he's main vocals and Shinhwa already has three rappers. Just for a fresh twist. Because Hyungsik sounded really good in his short talk-like singing parts.
Siwan's 'hard-edged' voice. Sorry I don't know how else to describe it. I love that Siwan gets some very fitting parts that complements his voice well. It gives a fresh mix to the smooth voices that are Kevin-Hyungsik-Dongjun. Cuz too much smoothies would make the song a lil too mushy n dull, i mean...nothing is good in excessive portion, so here we have Siwan bring in some hard-edge to the rendition n balance out the smoothieness, keeping things fresh n varied. Which I love.
What I did NOT love though, is Siwan's+Dongjun's combination of voices. I feel that the blend is not that beautiful and one voice overpowers the other or both blended into same sound even when they actually sound different. Edit: okay so maybe they're harmonizing but i didn't noticed it until just now...i think the voices just doesn't blend that well for my palate. What I'd like to see, is a Kevin+Siwan combination because Kevin and Siwan both have diverse characteristics to their singing. And I'd like to see how they'd work their voices together. As you can see, Kevin most often sound smooth in ZE:A/ZE:A FIVE songs, but he has hard edges to his voice too, just as Siwan who can dish out smooth rendition accordingly to how they throw their voices in singing. And in this cover of Cherry Blossom Ending, I noticed Siwan wasn't maximizing his vocal flexibility sadly, because I know he could do so much better(ok, even Kevin can do better than in this perf to be honest despite this already being an awesome showcase of his vocals), it's just that lately(well, maybe since he became busy with acting?) Siwan seems a little tired to fill his singing with vocal-play, techniques and passion? i'm not blaming his acting career because he's good at acting and he likes it, so he should do what he wanted to. But part of me is disheartened, knowing how more awesome he could be, like the old days if only there's that dash of passion added as he always did back then, to give ummph to his part n his already refreshing tone. Seriously.
Another part I love is near the end where they each sing a line and passed the baton to another member, starting with Kevin-Hyungsik-Siwan-Dongjun.If only Minwoo is included to get at least just one line of singing on that part, this performance would've been PERFECT instead of AWESOME. Just sayin'(Actually the whole ZE:A would be even more perfect than perfect if that's possible...just imagine Junyoung n Kwanghee flawless singing n Heechul/Taehun the rappers..i won't mind if they sing too...they sound pretty at singing too). You might argue that there's only four lines in that verse. Then why not have Hyungsik-Minwoo-Siwan-Dongjun instead since the verse afterwards, Kevin sings the whole of it completely anyway? But either way, how awesome yet sad that in this cover, they get the closest to having fair lines-distribution among the members. Even moreso than in their own song(well, the title song)
Kevin on the piano. Need i say more? *dreamy mode* lol.
I'm totally completely in love with this cover from ZE:A, yes, even more than I love the original song. Problem? You might think it's cuz I love ZE:A. Maybe. Maybe not. I love how this version allows a variety of voices to make the song more colourful painted with diverse vocals with a dash of refreshing raps/whatever you call that part is instead of just the same tone/sound through n through.
And on the part of visual, it's obviously pretty as usual. But I have to mention that Siwan is totally working out his acting skills with the expressions and looking at the 'cherry blossoms' and all. I don't know whether to swoon or ROTFL-ing watching his eyes/facial expressions. It's awesome though. LOL. And I'll admit he does appear really cute though i'm trying not to show too much fangirling on Siwan here, to keep some so-called-professionalism here. LMAO. While Dongjun, is a natural, he's always great working with camera probly due to him being the member with the most exposure(well, him and Kwanghee) and i do think Dongjun has natural charms when it comes to interacting with audience/camera(though that's not the case when the camera pans away n he just sat there cluelessly xD, Dongjunie, keep your focus will 'ya?). Surprisingly Hyungsik is not focused so much here, he's being fine, if just a lil awkward probly due to having to stand while the others sit xD. But he's showing really great focus n concentration, a shame the camera didn't capture more of him. Minwoo, despite being the least publicized member of this subunit...is doing good and looking at ease n charismatic...with cute gestures here and there. Cuz come on, Minwoo+aegyo=winning combination. xD and Kevin Mr Charismatic yet Awkward is overcoming his awkwardness. When Kevin look at the camera and smile while singing, a creepy smile just crept onto my face. Blame him okay, not me. Dear Kevin, keep loosening up, you're awesome, so no need to be nervous. In any case, just smile and the whole population watching you will fall off from their seats.
Well, I know I would. xD
Though as much as i love this, I would like to see them performing Fiancee. Why? Because everyone gets to sing in it(including Minwoo). And it's just as beautiful as this song. So, ZE:A has awesome songs too with pretty-feel and vibe akin to the oh-so-popular Cherry Blossom Ending, why not perform 'em and let people know bout it? ;)
-edit-
After 2-3 days, i'm still listening to this cover of Cherry Blossom Ending by ZE:A FIVE on nonstop repeat mode. And i'm suspecting it'll continue on repeat for at least a few more days...or until i find another song that can turn on my obsessive-listener mode. xD
Hello....I got bored and figured out a great new section for this blog...though i'm not sure how consistent i will be with this section.
You know how i'm always criticizing everything rite?
So I figured out to let you know that there are things i love n regard positively, things that manage to rank high according to MY standard.
who cares if the things i like don't get all-kill in charts? or not the main highlighted members in their group? or not even known to many? i'm not stupid to based my own taste based on some lame numbers or overrated hypes...to say 'see, i have good taste cuz look how high my idol is charting'...or how popular he/she is....seriously, i can never reach that level of lameness i think...so don't even bother to prove me how wrong my choices are, cuz they are MY choices.
And i'm honoured to share my taste...since you'll be able to see how high my standard is...hahaha...
excuse my manners being a lil boastful there.....hewhew...
For the first installment of this segment...i'm focusing on male idols. Why? Because many people always like to assume idols=not singers. Which applies to both male and female. And on fangirls' side...i keep saying they would argue which of their oppar is the best...and sometimes i just find myself cringing while LOLing hard seeing who they name as THE BEST. really...i'd be embarrassed if i'm those idols to be named the best. Well, i'm NOT going to say these guys of my choice as THE BEST, but more like, MY FAVOURITE Voices. Which means, the best TO ME, maybe. lol. And favourite voices doesn't necessarily mean they're my favourite members, though in many cases, my fav voice naturally become my fav member, but not for all.
So there's gonna be spoiler in this article BUT, I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO WATCH THE VIDEO...since it took me time n efforts to compile it...AND...you'd be able to see...or more like...hear, better...the reason i chose these five guys over other kpop-idolgroup guys.
dun dun dun....

5. Kim TaeKwan aka Hwichan(Battle)
born:1988, debut:2006
You all know Battle is my fav group rite? and i don't just like them for nothing or just for being pretty faces you know. I've been a fan of Battle eversince before they debut after seeing how talented n charming they're individually during Battle Shinhwa...and Hwichan wasn't in the group after Battle Shinhwa ended and winners were chosen to form a group n debut a year later...i learnt about him being a new member shortly before they debut after an original member(who's part of Battle Shinhwa winners) withdrew from the group. Eventually though, Dongwan chose Hwichan as the replacement. And trust Dongwan to have great taste n judgment...or maybe, just coincidentally the same as mine. Because the first winner he chose(each Shinhwa member chose a winner among the finalists) was my original favourite member, and Taekwan/Hwichan was actually my 2nd favourite among the finalists because he just has this awesome husky yet sharp n very powerful voice. Not far from Dongwan's voice quality i'd say, though Hwichan's voice probly a little sharper. Even though he wasn't THE star during the show n didn't get much attention, there were judges who saw and acknowledged his awesomeness, and even though he is probly not a main vocalist n didn't get to showcase his ultimate awesomeness in many Battle songs, due to restrained-amount of parts, and as far as i remember, Battle didn't have main vocals(though if they have, i'd say it's probly Chris or Taehwa...no?)...but if you watch the small compilation of his awesomeness in the video above...you should be able to see it. Eventhough he wasn't an original winner, everything happens for a reason and i'm so glad Hwichan is chosen as Battle's 'light' with his gorgeous powerful voice.
4. Kim Dongwan(Shinhwa)
born:1979, debut:1998
Shinhwa!!! My first Kpop-idol lurve. Wow...i almost forgot how much i lurved this guy's voice n Shinhwa as a whole-some of the craziest things i've done in my boring life was ignited by my love for Shinhwa. But as they say, first love isn't easily erasable. And i still remember how i disliked Dongwan at first...he was the first member of Shinhwa i knew...through drama(though i didn't even watch it n just read news about this Shinhwa dude in the drama...yeah, i was more judgmental back then), and then i discovered Eric, through drama as well...and i became a fan after checking out their music after being amused by Eric's role n acting there(it was Super Rookie, and Shinhwa had a really awesome OST-song for that drama that i still lurve till today-and Dongwan sounded amazing in that song...as is in other Shinhwa songs.xD)...i was surprised at first to know that this Eric guy is also from Shinhwa...group that has that Dongwan guy....and the rest was history...Shinhwa had an awful lot of awesome songs...you just couldn't hate them no matter how much you wanted to (well, i wanted to hate them cuz they're too popular back then n i just had disliking towards popular things cuz most time they're overrated....but...Shinhwa's not the case, clearly) and surprise surprise...whose voice would make me completely in awe, if it wasn't the good 'ol Dongwan. xD...while Hyesung is the main vocals, i'm never really a big fan of those type of voice, but Dongwan's strong, well defined clear voice is such a breathe of fresh air in kpop to me, at that time at least, or maybe even until now. Guess i'm just a sucker for strong, clear voices(no but really..just listen to how awesome he sounds xD). I think it was after they got out of SM, Dongwan's role became bigger(or maybe i'm just biased n wanted to see it that way). Brand New...while i can never comprehend the somewhat cringeworthy lyrics despite the epic-sound of the megahit song, I definitely am sooo pleased to see finally Dongwan is given a well deserved highlight, where this song is all about his vocal-showdown with Hyesung. Well deserved since both have very different types of sound. That one is definitely feast for the ears. Actually, I even had internal debate with self, because part of me felt his voice deserved a higher ranking, maybe 3rd place or even higher? But really, with these five, even ranking who tops over the rest is almost impossible.
3. Im Woongjae aka Im Siwan(ZE:A) born:1988, debut:2010
At first I was so sure Siwan should be at 3rd place, but after listening again and again to everyone in the list, I did have some internal conflicts, because I'd say out of the five, Siwan might sound the least polished. He's more on the raw side. A little unpredictable though, sometimes he could sound well polished, but many times, just raw, powerful, edgy voice. But i really like it. As you can see, Siwan is the only one in my list from the groups that are newer/younger. I mean, not in his age, but ZE:A's age, compared to other groups in my list. (Siwan is actually same age as Hwichan though Siwan is a little younger hence he's the youngest in this list afterall.... xD) Groups that debuted lately are prone to have either budak hingusan tak baligh lagi-like voice(you'll understand if you understand haa) or girly/pondan-ish-voice or sometimes deep voice...same 'ol same 'ol. Strong, powerful voice akin to Dongwan's or Hwichan's or even Siwan's have become really rare. Which is why i'd cringe when people say they get mixed between Siwan's voice and some other members of his group. Because only Siwan has that combination of sharp edginess n powerful energy to his voice even if technically I'd say Kevin's the best singer in ZE:A...and Junyoung's pretty decent too, and eventhough main vocalists Dongjun and Hyungsik basically has like 50% parts in their songs. He might not sound as stable/consistently perfect as even those i placed at 4th and 5th place, but there's a great energy in Siwan's voice n pronunciation/stressing in his singing that I really adore n find attractive n that makes him definitely deserving a top5 spot, regardless of what number.
2. Park Jungjin(A'ST1/M.E.N)
born:1987, debut:2008
This is another one in this list that made me conflicted. I almost want to give him the first place because after rewatching his singing parts, he really is just that awesome to me. I just love the tone, power and versatility in his voice when he sings. Usually i'm not a big fan of singers who tries to sing stylishly(haha, don't ask me what's that supposed to mean..damnit, i can't express well with words haa) but Jungjin has a really awesome balance between sounding stylish in an effortless way while having much power and emotions in his singing. And I just noticed how his singing got even more powerful in M.E.N songs which is just attractive to listen to. He was good even in A'ST1 and due to A'ST1's quite diverse type of music, i also manage to see how Jungjin can fits in so perfectly in many music styles/type. His voice sounded great in RnB and funky upbeat songs, so I was surprised that he sounded mesmerizing as well in traditional Kballad song. Even though if you're not a fan of A'ST1 or just a casual fan who only knows their title songs and a few more, you probly won't be able to see his awesomeness since Jungjin doesn't really get to showcase much in their title songs but in other songs, he definitely shines. Even if A'ST1 has some legit awesome main vocals like Hanbyul who has a really indescribably awesome singing style and Jangmoon who's probly the most vocally stable and consistent, that even I, who don't usually like main vocals-type-of-voices(including hanbyul's n jangmoon's), am impressed so much by them both, yet Jungjin still manage to held his own. In terms of voice, i don't think there's any hesitation to say he's my favourite in his group, and even overall, he charted high as my impression of him keeps improving every time i hear him sings. He has a way of conveying emotions effectively while sounding stylish/elegant without those overmelodramatic style of singing. In short, effortlessly.and versatile.
1. Kim Janghyun(SunnyHill) born:1985, debut:2007
Is it even any surprise that he would make it on top? I fell in love with his voice ever since I first watch a video of his solo performance in Battle Shinhwa grand finals. Yes, another Battle Shinhwa alumni who made into my list. Okay admittedly i first checked him out cuz Dongwan picked him and I wanna know how good is this boy my fav voice in Shinhwa would choose, and I can say I'm so proud of Dongwan. Too bad he quit before making his debut with Battle(or he'd have become their leader) but when I hear he's debuting in SunnyHill...well, as long as he debut. But recently, his role in SunnyHill had been downgraded to as low as being the mascot which made me wish he'd just quit this group and debut as solo singer. Seriously. He deserved so much better. Most people brushed off his lack of parts by swallowing the stupid excuse given by his company that 'he's the producer n makes music for the group so he can't sing' -uhhh....since when does a singer who produce his own music can't sing it? and btw, did you notice when the songs came out, the composers/writers names are not Kim Janghyun? I can't believe how easily people these days just swallow up all those 'statements' from medias n companies. Shouldn't we know better than to just believe obvious crappy statements easily? and I can't believe someone said he doesn't get parts in SunnyHill cuz he's a weak singer. Excuse me...EXCUSE ME??? What? I've also seen people comparing his voice to Ryeowook of Super Junior and while Ryeowook excels with high notes, i think....i would say, NO, to the comparison. Janghyun's voice doesn't go that high-pitched i think, but it has a very calming effect, while being very elegant for the lack of better description. Unlike most Kpop idols/singers, his voice doesn't evoke all those dramatic feels when he's singing emotional stuffs, yet he exudes...sheer elegance, even when he's singing powerful songs with strong beats. And his voice...idk, i find it simply attention-commanding. Once you listen to it, you can't help but want to hear moarrr. (which is why i'm really pissed off with his 'role' in the new Sunny Hill) While Janghyun is not in boygroup, unlike the other guys in this chart here, i don't know where else to place him, Sunny Hill is like semi-idolgroup. So i can't place them with indie bands, and i'm not planning to have a category for co-ed group cuz there's hardly any that captured my attention. And i can't categorize them in girlgroup segment cuz what will that make Janghyun then? xD
---
Well, how do you find that list? Tbh, there are quite a number more i also liked for their voices and would've included if only the list is longer. Like T-Max's Shin Minchul, SS501's Kim Hyungjun and Park Jungmin, B1A4's CNU, ZE:A's Kevin(well, tbh i'm not sure how much i love Kevin's voice though i do acknowledge he's a great singer...but personal taste in voice plays major role in determining factor..i think i like Kevin's singing style more than his voice-same case as A'ST1's/Monday Kiz's Lim Hanbyul) etc. etc. But i think, more or less you can see the type of voices I gravitate towards with the main list above, right? xD. And you should also be able to see why some popular groups, i can't even bother to mention in this blog, for the lack of voice i find magnetic like those five up there. Please don't think too much about who placed at which number because seriously...i'm bad at ranking my own favs especially when all felt like they all deserved the first place. xD
And you do notice my fav voices above are all not THE main vocalists, rite? So what? don't need no 'main vocalist' badge to prove i've awesome taste. :p
For next one...what would you like to know about my top5? Hmm, I don't know if i'd be able to compile five for girlgroups(don't get me wrong, i like many girlgroups-probly even more than boygroups, but it's hard to find voices i find remarkable/unique/so captivating in girlgroups), if i could...that might be next...if not, i'll have to think of another category.
